Uchisar Castle: Located 5 km away from the center of Cappadocia, the Cappadocia Red Tour program in Uçhisar Castle is the largest and most beautiful point of the castle with its fairy chimneys. The only place where you can see Cappadocia from a bird's eye view is from the top of the castle. The whole of Cappadocia is under your feet. Uçhisar Castle is approximately 4.9 km from Göreme. The best time to visit is when there are breathtaking sunset views.. (Due to the intensity of our tour and the risk of accidents, the tour does not go to the top.)
RockTown underground city:
It is quite normal to call the area called Rock Town (Kayasehir) Nevsehir underground city and I even think it should be referred to this way. This region, located around Nevsehir castle, covers a total area of 437,400 square meters.
Rock Town Kayasehir, also known as Nevsehir underground city, takes its name from the rock mosque located just below the castle. Rock-carved settlements have been discovered in this large area. Since the settlement area consists of places carved out of rocks, this is a very sufficient reason for us to call it an underground city. In this area, there are areas such as a 13th-century Byzantine rock church, multi-storey tombs, gathering areas for religious ceremonies, work workshops, and underground water tunnels.
The first discoveries of the Nevsehir underground city, known as Kayasehir, were made in 2015 and a major research was initiated following the discoveries. As a result of this research and scientific studies, 312 spaces and 700 rooms were discovered in the Kayasehir area. Among the 700 rooms, 6 rooms of linseed mills, known as the industry and production of the period, were discovered. It is understood that medicines, varnishing, kitchen oil, lamps and various plant oils were produced with linseed in these linseed mills.
Many ancient findings and historical artifacts were unearthed in Rock Town (Kayasehir) Nevsehir underground city. Some of these, including grinding stones, hand mills, wooden tools and 708 pipe artifacts, were unearthed. Tools used in ancient times such as 40 zikkes belonging to the period of Sultan Abdulmecit, 270 oil lamps, 12 grinding stones, 51 candlesticks, 21 tömbeki and 45 millstones dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries were found.
It is also called the largest underground city in the world
Zelve Museum: Zelve Open Air Museum is known as the longest continuously inhabited settlement in the Cappadocia region. It is also the oldest settlement in the region. It is located approximately 2 km east of Göreme district. It is considered the most important museum in Cappadocia. Christianity first started to spread here. There are many monasteries, churches and residences. It attracts attention especially with its cave houses.
Pasabag Valley: Paşabağ Valley is the most characteristic region of the Cappadocia region. Due to erosion caused by factors such as rain and wind, the tuff formations in this valley have a mushroom-like appearance. Cappadocia Paşabağ Valley, which stands out with its popularity in the Red Tour, is home to fairytale fairy chimneys and many cave houses. The best way to explore the valley is to tour the trails and explore all the settlements.
Devrent Valley: Devrent Valley is located on the road between Avanos and Ürgüp. Red Tour One of the first sights that greet you in Cappadocia is a giant rock that resembles a camel. Depending on your imagination, you may see rock formations that resemble animal figures. You can also see churches and Roman cemeteries. Although the name Devrent Valley means "pit" and "cliff", contrary to its meaning, the entire valley is surrounded by fascinating formations.
